Description -

The toughest obstacle you face when developing people is often the people themselves - or rather their mindset.

10 Teambuilders is a collection that allows you to challenge the imagination of your participants to leave their old mental constraints behind them. Each game places individuals in unfamiliar situations and environments; they're astronauts on a mission to Saturn, members of an archaeological team, or part of a specialist bomb-disposal team. By using the new perspective that environment gives them, they are encouraged to explore one of five key management areas:

  • decision making
  • problem solving
  • team working
  • communication
  • leadership.

To make sure that you not only engage your people's enthusiasm and sense of fun, but that you also achieve a significant learning outcome, Michèle Barca and Kate Cobb include plenty of guidance to help you plan, run and debrief each of the games. There are also background notes, models and techniques on the five key areas, which you can develop into handouts or presentations to support your session.

The running time of each game varies between 45 and 90 minutes, making them suitable for both residential courses and half-day team development sessions.

With so much material offering a variety of ways to explore some of the most fundamental subjects within management development, 10 Teambuilders is a treasure trove for both the experienced and the novice games user, or indeed anyone looking for inspiration in their training and development.
